No, that's not what I mean. The way I was raised, my mum made it look like if I didn't know how to do certain things the traditional or local way then I'm not a worthy citizen.
So knowing how to do a lot of local things makes me feel like I'm a real citizen.
And I feel I should correct the impression your comment is giving me. I perceive that you assume or believe cooking with firewood is a method for the poor. That's very incorrect. I know many and I see lot's of rich people who use firewood in their homes. It's not a thing of the poor. Only that it's very affordable and it's an easy method to maintain for those who aren't financially buoyant to purchase the other kinds of cooking medium.
