My last two posts have been downvoted by @mack-bot as spam. This is, of course, extremely troubling to me. I work hard to provide quality content here on ye olde Steem blockchain, and while I have enough autovote support from fellow steemians who think so to make my posts reappear following the downvote, it still doesn't feel good. At all.
I have sent @patrice, the bot's owner and much respected spam fighter, a memo about the flagging, but have not received a reply. While Steem is not, as of yet, a meaningful part of my income, I've been building up my presence, reputation, and following with consistent posts. I have invested a LOT of time on Steem in 2018.
And I try to do it as cleanly and honestly as I can. I don't use bid-bots, I participate in the community when my depression allows it. I think I'm a good steemian. People tell me I am.
If I get downvoted by bigots, which has happened, I brush it off. It's the price of having an opinion on the internet, and I know the crap I get is minuscule compared to what women and people of color get for expressing similar opinions. Bigots gonna bigot.
But getting a downvote from a bot made by @patrice is an entirely different matter. I respect Patrice. Her work with
@steemcleaners has been a great boon for the community. She is clearly someone who is doing good in the community. So to have someone like that in opposition - even via automated bot - is highly unpleasant and troubling.
I hope this issue is resolved soon.
