Even from the very inception of Scholar and Scribe and the initial posts I made outlining the background and tokenomics of the community, the idea of a frontend has been at the forefront of many discussions and plans for the communities growth. Many of you in the Discord channels know that we have discussed implementing our own front end, firing up an outpost, and a slew of options in between. We've also had many discussions around user onboarding and exposing the awesome writing that Hive authors are posting to a wider audience.
Well, today I think we are taking the right steps towards something that brings us the best of both worlds to our community! We have a few exciting updates to come over the next week or two, not least of which is the testing and rollout of our new frontend. You may have noticed the occasional "Pizza Poetry" posts that have popped up in the community on occasion? Well those are test posts pushed from the community frontend via EXXP. @thebeardflex has been doing some customization work in the background to give us flexibility in how we use this platform. With the ability to post to the chain with the usual tags and separately classify and organize content with additional tags specific to the frontend we have opened a lot of possibilities.
Things like text adventures and text RPGs become a lot more possible. We can keep high quality posts relevant and on display for longer. We can enable writers from the web2 world to join and participate in our community, and show them the benefits of the web3 metaverse, without a Hive account. This will be an important onboarding tool for Scholar and Scribe, PIZZA, and Hive. It will even be possible to offer subscriptions and gated content that will enable our authors to earn from posts that gain traction outside of the Hive ecosystem.
I do want to caution, however, that this is only a very early stage in testing and building this frontend and its features! It will adapt and evolve much as our community has so far, with the goal of enabling our authors and writers to attract readers, gain an audience, and ultimately monetize and market their content with the widest reach possible.
As things develop we will continue to work closely with the PIZZA team to expand the frontend, promote our content, build partnerships with projects whose goals and values align with ours, and build use cases beyond curation for our tokens.
I expect to start expanding usage of the frontend soon, as we iron out some final details and test things out more effectively! This post is part of that process, for now, consider this a bit of a teaser of things to come!
Below are just a few snippets of sections of the current state of the frontend- they are all subject to change if needed!
