We've all told lies at some point in our lives and we have all been told lies.
I don't think there's anyone that can confidently stand and say that they have never lied.
Even you saying that is a very big lie.
So for this week's edition, we have to talk about one particular lie that had a major impact and I'll, but first I'll name some of the basic lies I was told, most especially by my mother.
People lied to me alot and I was always so gullible.
Now the lie I want to talk about, told by my very endearing mother is *If a boy just touches to me, I'll get pregnant.
Now this one, I took to heart.
When I was little, it was a ritual for me and my mum to watch Nigerian movies together and I'd see on tv how the woman with a very big and round tummy would scream and shout whenever it was time for whatever was inside to come out.
It looked so terrifying, so when she said, "Don't allow a boy to touch you or you will get pregnant".
I accepted it wholly.
In my early years in secondary school, I avoided boys like they were plagues.
I even caused a serious issue in my class when I said I didn't want any single boy to sit near me. If a girl couldn't sit with me, then I wanted to own the seat and when I was asked why, I said because all the boys were wicked and would make me cry and scream.
Now I know my mum told me what she did out of love to protect me and that was like the best way she thought she could put it but in my brain, I registered that if a boy just put his hand on my body, boom pregnancy happens.
I didn't want to be like the women shouting on tv.
I understand now what it actually meant by if a boy touches me, I'd get pregnant.
From a technical aspect, it wasn't exactly a lie but still it is.
Now I'm grown up and I am still careful around boys especially with the amount of breakfast that is being dished out to people.
My mum has told me a lot of things, some of them lies just to help me and make me better, like trying to stop me from chewing my nails with the lie that maggots will come out from my fingers.
It never worked though, if anyone has a remedy for it, please help me!!!!!!.
I'm twenty one years old and sometimes I still find myself saying, "My mother said I shouldn't-".
I guess I can never grow tired of her and I'm here telling everyone.
If a boy touches you, you'll get pregnant. So don't let them touch you馃槀 and Ben 10's ultimatrix is not definitely not real.
