We all have that one person that we feel do irrevocably bonded to. That person that we feel incomplete without.
To some of us that person might turn out to be their long time partner, some others hold such people as friends till the very end and unfortunately for others the friendship doesn't make it out.

Like everyone else I found someone, the girl that became my otherhalf.
In these past years I grew and I changed. During my first year, I was the quiet timid girl, one who was afraid to make friends.
So many questions ran through my head like what do I say to people?, how am I expected to reply when someone talks to me?, What if I eventually say something out and it ends up sounding like garbage?.
It was safer for me to keep to myself and so I did.

That was until she came along.
Esther is what I would describe as a force, an uncultured masterpiece. She was who she was and she never apologized for it. I watched from the sidelines in envy.
She spoke to everyone so easily, the conversation just seemed to flow, she laughed so freely and it always left me wondering, was it really that easy?

One sunny afternoon we sat outside a hall waiting for a lecturer because in my school, during my first year, the lecture hall was only opened by the lecturer when he or she got there. We the students had to wait outside.
Sitting all alone, I began singing a song I knew that someone was playing not too far away from me;
So you can keep me
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer till our eyes meet
She joined in. Then we were both singing.

I knew she was sitting right next to me but I didn't acknowledge her. I was all about the if you don't talk to me I won't talk to you vibe.
She turned to me and smiled,"That's one of my favorite songs".
"Me too", I replied.
A conversation started after that, we talked about our favorite songs and both discovered our love for Ed Sheeran, James Arthur and Alessia Cara. They are still my favorite artists till date.

The conversation went deeper and I found out she didn't have a stable place to live. I was in the exact same situation but unlike her I was about to get out of mine.
Without thinking it through I said to her, "I'm going to buy an hostel space tomorrow. When I get it, you can come stay with me".
If my mother had heard me I would have ended with a knock on my head to rewire the settings because why would I invite a complete stranger to come stay with me?

It was meant to be I came to realize as the days passed and she ended up being a solid rock, we managed to get the space and we became Beddies( people that share a bed). Something we completely made up.
Esther not only completed but also changed me, with her help I learnt how to talk to people without shying out of it, I made more friends, laughed more, went out more, did crazy spontaneous things like walking under the rain (this didn't end well by the way), sitting on flyovers, walking up to random people and telling them they looked pretty.
She made me better.

We have our ups and downs, you can't expect any relationship to be perfect. I cannot count the number of times we've had a fallout.
Over the years she became more than just my Beddie, she advanced to my otherhalf, my for life.
We are having one of those silly fallouts right now but I know we're going to get over it. We always do because I know for a fact that she is my soulmate and I will love her forever.
