If a majority of people displays the same amount of polished skills or resources, then that majority is simply not an elite anymore. It's a majority.

I agree. So it seems these people are just part of majority then. And if they really want to be elite, then they must have something extraordinary to offer. But the thing is, they have convinced themselves to be elites - which created the whole problem ( a lot of people feeling like elites and should deserve more ).
