Here are some thoughts and questions I had about various crypto-related things! Read and upvote and delegate me insane amounts of SP, k thx.

  • I want to get into GPU mining but I don't really know exactly where to start as far as building or buying a rig. I wish I could talk to people who really knew what they were doing and could say "Ok, here is exactly what to buy" . Is there some kind of telegram/discord group that is good for this type of question? Or is anyone on Steem good to talk to?

  • Why does the Steemit UI (and all other UIs) display rewards as dollars, with the $ sign? It's very confusing. I have a (not very well thought out) theory that the tendency for STEEM to be valued at about $1 is due to this association. It's like a subconscious message that 1 steem = 1 dollar. Also, I honestly don't even know if the estimated rewards are actually dollars, like the $ implies, or steem?

  • I've written about this before but I really think there must be more people like me: software developers who have gotten into the blockchain/crypto space recently and haven't been able to get a job in the space, and really want to build something. I want to find these people, because I think having a group of like-minded people putting out heads together would be more productive than me tinkering around with a blockchain project on my own. WHERE ARE THESE PEOPLE?? Seriously, they have to exist.

  • There is a project that I recently started investing in (and which has an affiliate program, but I'm not using it because that often seems spammy) called Accelerator Network (the URL is, quite fittingly, accelerator.network).

It's basically a system where the blockchain is backed by a real facility that they are going to build, which is going to house mining computers. You can then easily make orders by paying with the ACC tokens. It's strange, now they have a "prototype" mining program that you can use, which now offer Eth and BTG, I think.

It's interesting in that there is a 10 million limit on the ACC tokens, and the staking setup is....quite interesting: You hold the ACC tokens, which are eth tokens, in your eth wallet. Every 3+ days you can trigger a "mining" action just by sending yourself a small amount of ACC. The return for the first year is 300% (!!) and it goes down quickly after that. ACC is currently at around $6-7.

There was no ICO, just an airdrop, and the team and future location of the facility is anonymous - for legal reasons, apparently. That seems like it maybe should be a red flag, but somehow it seems legit. Take a look at it. I'm fully prepared for it to be a scam, and I'm not investing too much, but boy, if it's not a scam? Hooo boy.
