God will take you to school. He’ll teach you how to pray. He’ll teach you through series of circumstances, giving you problems that you can’t solve. Giving you burdens that you can’t bear until you learn how to call upon Him so that He’ll show you great and mighty things that you know not.
Some of you are going through the greatest trial of your life; it may be a physical one. You may have had the best minds in medical science look at you and say you don’t have a chance in ten thousand. You may be going through a financial crisis. You may be going through a family crisis. I assure you, by personal experience, that the God that we serve, nothing is impossible with Him!
We like to see God as a gracious and forgiving God, but we don’t like to see Him as a God of judgment and wrath. In the New Testament, the Apostles said, “knowing the wrath of God, we persuade men to salvation.” It’s clear that God’s judgment, wrath, and justice is turned out against wicked and unrighteous people. When we take God’s grace for granted, it helps us to put His wrath back in the equation so that we once again appreciate what He did for us when He sent His Son to die on the cross.
