Hello everyone, a new day for all of us, and for me, along with a new drawing for you. I've drawn the i44 Old Cello card. This is a very curious violin because it has some very interesting details. The most striking is the card's name itself; it refers to an old violin. When we look at the card's artwork and its details, we can see that it lives up to its name. You can see that it's worn and has seen a lot of use. You can also see that it's missing parts; for example, one of the tuning pegs on the top.
All these little things make it interesting to me. I like used objects that have had a long life and are then kept as mementos. In my drawing, I tried to capture some of these characteristics of the original card. I used muted colors and other details to give it that feel. The whole process was a lot of fun, and now I'm going to tell you how I did it from beginning to end.
First of all, everyone, I made the card's frame; it's the two rectangles you'll see below. That frame is what will contain the other elements of the drawing.
With that part finished, I moved on to making the violin. I started with the neck, the part you hold to play. You know, when I was making that part, it looked like a hunting spear or a battle lance to me, haha. If I had left it at that point, no one would have imagined that it would later become a violin.
Once the neck was finished, I made the body of the violin. This is the part with the wavy shape that rests on the violinist's shoulder. In real life, it also serves as a soundbox to amplify the sound of the strings when the bow passes over them. The bow, by the way, is the elongated part used to bow the strings.
In the details section, I painted several things, including the stand and the string tensioner. I also made the decorative elements for the soundboard and the legs to make it stand up. Finally, I added the tuning pegs. If you look closely, one of those pegs is missing; I did that on purpose to make it resemble the original chart and give it that aged look. It was a lot of fun.
Now I'll quickly show you the painting process.
Colleagues, all that's left is for you to see how it turned out when it was finished. In this last step, I added the violin strings and the details of the card. It was an interesting and fun process. Blessings to all, see you soon.
