A fresh batch of silver landed at my door tonight, but this evening I shall share just one piece.

This beautifully toned art bar (YES! I did think about polishing it.... don’t judge me!!!_ 😂🤣😂) commemorates one of America’s greatest avionic achievements - Charles Lindbergh’s solo flight across the Atlantic. Released by the Hamilton Mint in 1974, the bar is one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. One side depicts Lindbergh’s plane, The Spirit of St. Louis flying into Paris over the Arc du Triomphe and Eiffel Tower.

From the flip side, you can see this bar is part of the America’s Greatest Events series. The series is a 50 bar set, with 10,000 bars of each event minted. This side of the bar provides a short description of the event as well as the mint name, mint year, bar weight and purity. The first flag of the United States is show on the left side of the bar with a Saturn 5 rocket on the right.

Because of the toning and fine scratches, I was able to purchase this bar for less than $22! I know that is over spot, but other shinier versions of this bar have sold on eBay for nearly $100. Getting art bars for reasonable prices is often a struggle, so I am quite happy with this purchase.
