The wise people say the kids are the future of tomorrow. To make the statement stands, we have to give them a sound education and this also makes their future brighter, but in today's world, most especially in Nigeria, the kids are not taken care of properly by their guidance.

It’s disheartening when you see young boys sabotaging their life by taking hard drugs and living rough life and when you talk to them they feel like you're not in vogue. Even the little ones who are still in their right senses don't uphold the opportunities within their grasp, and when they missed the opportunity that could change their life for good there's a high tendency they will end up joining the bad boys or live a miserable life.

There is a saying that we become what we see i.e. society has a great influence on our life but despite that, we still have some disciplined children in the corrupted communities we live in. Disciplined children are made because they come from disciplined homes. If you're reading this post, I want it to be an inspiration for you to guide your child/ren and younger ones through the right lane so that you have peace of mind and happy life when you grow old.

The majority of these problems come from the parents because they always want to program their children with what they've been programmed not knowing that the world has changed from the era of going to school and getting a job. Robert Kiyosaki has preached this in the Rich Dad, Poor Dad Book but you agree with me that only a few African parents love to read.

By saying give your kid a sound education doesn't mean sending them to school alone, we all know that the world is changing every day with the power of technology. Try to discover your kid's talent and guide him through it so that he won't end up being a puppet for CEOs, let your kid be one of the future CEOs. If your kid has a passion (the truth is everybody has a passion for something) follow him through the passion and support him fully at the early stage before it gets too late. What most African parents believe is school and they don't care about other education for their children to live their lives morally and the real school is after school.

We live in the era of magic, a world where you can reach millions of people without moving out of your home with the power of the internet, and everything is getting digitalized. Right now, there are a lot of young people out there who are making their living from their homes without working for anybody while some young people look up to them instead of using that as an inspiration to start up something, this is because they lack mentors and for kids, I think mentors from outside are not enough to guide them, they also need the parent to take what their mentors tell them seriously in the way they take school seriously, I'm saying this because this is what we have experienced in the academy.

We always have moral talks with the boys mostly in every training section. Some of the things we tell them are to take advantage of social media, instead of them being content consumers alone, they should work on their passion/talent and put it outside there for people to see. Don’t let people use you to make money alone, you should also use people to make money while we also teach them in and out of blockchain. We also gave them empowerment, i.e. they should develop an idea for themselves either as a group or as individuals and we will support them with the gadgets needed and also buy them Internet Data from the academy funds but only a group of four boys turned up because the boys are already into comedy.

Most of the parents here don't believe in sports and this adds to the boys' football dreams because if they care about their children's passion like school, they would ask what they are taught and told in their soccer academy, non of the parent has ever asked to see their child/ren soccer academy notebook. As a parent, you have to support your kid's passion and talent the way you care for their school. Don't conclude that he can not make it through, if others were pessimistic, we would have no footballers from all over the world, we know the challenges are tough but nothing good is achieved easily.

We are doing our best at the academy because all we do is not limited to football, we want these boys to have a good life and set an example for their peers. Recently one of the academy boys get called up for Nigeria u15 National team, this is a boy from a poor family. A man picked him up from DFA and helped him to where he is now.

We wrote this blog with the hope to see parent change their mentalities towards their kid's future, they should care about their passion the way they care for their schools. And the kids should also help themselves, by appreciating the people trying to build and remodel them for good, appreciating their mentors, and taking what you call your passion seriously because the only person that can help you is yourself. PEACE ✌️
