Facebook has used our data in some seriously shady ways. The company had a tough 2018. In March, it was revealed that Cambridge Analytica got access to data from user profiles. Millions of profiles privacy became compromised. Cambridge collected data from profiles that included details on users’ identities, friend networks, and likes. High levels of secrecy enable unethical behavior on Facebook and many other social media sites. Data collection practices remain opaque, even to advertisers. It's clear Congress is concerned that Facebook isn’t doing right by the billions of people who use the platforms and services.
Now we have the Blockchain were we can watch our data and many other things. Plus not being censored when sharing thoughts and opinions. Social media’s such as Facebook and many others use the “Hate Speech” excuse very loosely. I’d left Facebook as soon I’d heard about it’s troubles in the beginning of 2018 and never looked back. Next is Twitter... but I really like the site even though I know Freedom of Speech is dying there too. Hopefully Twitter don’t go that route...
