Hello Summoners
How are you today? I hope you have a good Splinterlands day as I do. It is not a great one but I like the day when I can play Splinterlands freely for ten to fifteen minutes.
Anyway in Real World, We are having a world cup 2026 right now, so the football or soccer euphoria is everywhere around the globe. Even you are not a football fan, you might hear about this and see some news and highlight about this world cup.
I am a football fan, so I follow this sport and have my favorite teams. But I am not talking about the world cup here, It is about a vocab that quite viral here, I mean everyone have been using it recently. It is a HARAM-BALL.
Usually people refer this xxx-BALL to the head coach. Amorim-Ball for the team coached by Amorim, Arteta-Ball for the team coached by Arteta, and so on. And those are usually the team tactic that we say good in bad connotation.
Haram-Ball works the same, it comes from HARAM which mean forbidden or sinful, it is an Arabic word. This is addressed to any team that play super defensive, very passive and pragmatically play defensive. They do not care what people say, what they do is anything that could make them win.
With that term, I realize that I do play Splinterlands like that too lol. I often playing so defensively that I want to win by not losing any, and not caring much about how I build up my attacks. Sometime I call my meta turtle formation, which all we do are just defends lol.
Let me show you one of my "HARAM-BALL" meta on Splinterlands here, the recent one...
This was the battle that I deployed my "HARAM-BALL" team. You could look at the line up there, I brought one tank and 4 healers. I literally only defended and no matter what I could not lose my tank there. My opponent used a very defensive line up, but they were not near my "HARAM-BALL" meta. They still thought about attacking, building up speed, linking between their units... well that's lame lol.
Anyway my opponent was not a bad one you know. They came with a diamond league max level. So even they came with a very textbook line up, it was still a hard one due to massive level difference. They could come with a better line up by changing one or two units there, but this was a Survival mode. Things were not as that simple.
Even though I played super defensively, "parking the bus" lol, in football I needed to score a goal or challenged them in Pinalty Kick Shootout. In splinterlands, I still need to make a kill, or challenge them in fatigue endurance battle.
I chose to bring one big hitter, it was Captain Katie. 4 Magic damage was enough to make a kill, because this was only a 39 mana cap battle. We could not expect some mega giga hitter joining in, else you would not get 6 units team.
7 mana unit with 4 magic damage and a bloodlust ability... This was one of the wisest decision.
The result was simple, my HARAM-BALL brought me a convincing win. My team won in the fifth round, and none of us got hurt. We have got a flawless victory here, but please do not ask how the battle progressing. It was a dull and lame, a solid boring one lol.
So what do you think about my "HARAM-BALL" here? Should I stop it? or maybe you want to challenge it? Feel free to express yourself here and see you next time guys!
