Welcome back to my Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge. This Week we have Dhampir Stalker as our theme, he is a rare rarity Death Element Monsters from Chaos Legion Edition.
How good is this Dhampir Stalker? Let's find out shall we?
Shorten lore: Half-vampire, the Dhampir are faster and stronger than normal humans. Most have taken to a mercenary lifestyle, never quite welcome with vampires or humans.
There were up and down about this monsters, and I believe in future there will be more up and down on him too. The first time Chaos Legion Edition released, Dhampir Stalker had his worst time. He was a good damage dealer, with true aim ability, however 7 Mana was too much for any team on Bronze-Silver League. For your informaton, in past we mostly only had 20-35 mana cap for a silver league battle rank, so having a Dhampir Stalker was a bad decision. And that time, the separation between Modern Format and Wild Format had not been settled.
Then on a mid year of 2022 we had the Wild and Modern separation and some additional mana cap too like we have nowadays... We can get 35-55 mana cap on Silver League Rank, which in past we would not have that many. This allows us to have more chance in using monsters which require 6+ mana, including Dhampir Stalker.
Ok, let's we just skip all and resume his pros and cons.
DHAMPIR STALKER STRENGTH
THE TRUE AIM. His True Aim Ability is his unique selling point. He won't miss his attack. With more new monsters who are fast and hard to hit, such as Coerl Lurker, having a true aim (sniper) sometime become a necessity. A regular magic attack won't be useful against this kind of monsters.
DAMAGE DEALER. Undeniable, Dhampir Stalker hits hard. he starts with 3 range damage, and ends at 5 damage. Not something that amazing, however it is hard enough to kill any monsters.
RISE OF COMMON RULESET. Dhampir Stalker is a Rare rarity monster, so it means we can use him during Rise of Common Ruleset (common and rare only monsters). We always have some spot left for hard hitters.
DHAMPIR STALKER WEAKESS
I will try to put this simple. He is strong but somehow he plays one dimensional only. I mean we have him to kill opponents, no buff or debuffing like Lira The Dark, and of course no support to other team mate. So most of the time, we end up building a team to support him, not he supports the team.
This time I try to be different. I am taking one of the battle from my Modern Format Tournament as the battle challenge
We can only have Riftwatcher edition and Chaos Legion edition in the team selection, and we have bronze league level cap too.

There ruleset were HEALED OUT (All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.) and CLOSED (Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.). I think these two rulesets are good for me to use Thaddius Brood to lead the Death Element team. I need no healers, and I can bring some Range Attackers with a permanent debuff to opponent magic attacks.
Mana cap 36 is good for Dhampir Stalker too, plenty enough but not higher. Higher than 40, I might not be able to use Dhampir Stalker, because I will be forced to bring a bigger mana monsters such as RAA.
ok back to our formation, here they are:
| Position | Card | Ability | Plan and Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summoner | -1 magic, -1 health | One of my favorite summoner, Always a good choice if you think you are going to meet Obsidian team from Earth Element | |
| Main Tank | Thorn | Undeniable cursed windeku is everyone's favorite tank on Death Element Chaos Legion Edition. High Health, Fast, good Melee Attack and a defensive ability of THORN | |
| Second | Reach | Riftwatcher monster who blends well with Chaos Legion team. I think he is a great Reach Melee Monsters, 3 Melee attack and 3 speed. | |
| Third | Life Leech | A filler monster who is very annoying. In general having 1 magic attack and 2 health is not something that threating, however due to his Life Leech, as the rounds progressed, he will get bigger and bigger up to a size that is not easy to be killed | |
| Fourth | Sneak | One of the trademark monsters from Chaos Legion monster. The strongest Sneak Melee Attacker of Chaos Legion edition, alongside with Tenyii Striker | |
| Fifth | Blast | Another Rift watcher, Technomancer Rat is not powerful, low magic damage and very slow.... however with blast attacks he will be dangerous. | |
| The Last | True Aim | Our Main theme for this week. Let's hope he will perform well |
My biggest concern was if I met Tarsa Team, because Fire Element Team would mostlikely using sneak attacks and opportunity attacks. My line up was not good to defend againts sneak attacks. It's very relieving seeing opponent came using Obsidian.
