Devil Gundam: Thigh Scratch Building [Leg Modification - Part 13]

Hi guys!

Today I will try to make the connector that later will be embedded onto the scratch build thigh. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!

I purposely used a bigger pla plates for making this box connector. Since I'm really sure how big the actual connector will be when it's done.

All I know is that I will use the whole cover piece I trimmed off yesterday. So I'll definitely adjust the size when everything is cemented in place.

In this step all I had to do is clean up the under side of the peg since it will be cemented on top of the pla plate. I needed to make sure that the surface is flat.

Because originally the peg had a slight angle when it was still attached to the upper leg piece. So levelling that bottom is very important before cementing it in place.

Now that the polycap holders are in place I can move onto the next step. Which is cementing pla plates on the sides of this connector.

That cover pieces have been cleaned up using file and polycaps are in place. I can start with the piece I did yesterday since the cement has cured overnight.

I've prepared a long strip pla plate for this step to make sure it will have a similar size when completed. Although, I will adjust it later after cement has cured properly.

I will start with a pair of pla plates first on the same direction. So it will be easier for me to level the top and bottom part of this connector by looking at it sideways.

Carefully I cemented the pla plates in place for both connectors. Since I used both tamiya cement and thin cement for the polycap holder, I can cement the second piece I just did today.

I made sure the top and bottom piece are level. Then I will wait for the cement to cure overnight before trimming the excess pla plates. And do another prep work before going to the next step.
