Devil Gundam: Splitting Leg [Leg Modification - Part 5]

Hi guys!

Today I will split the left leg. This will be the same routine with the previous modifications I did a few days ago.

So here are my updates today for the Project Devil Gundam!

As you can see this is straight build from the box. I only remove nubmarks and clean up the surface a little.

I have an idea for the toes there. I will use similar concept with the hand scratch build earlier and make each toe an articulation like an actual mechanical feet.

But I will use somewhat a different approach since I want to keep that original toe shape. So I will split the toes into sections.

Then make the actual structure (at this point you can sort of call it an inner frame). After that I will have to be able to freely snap them together with the original toes since I will going to paint this kit.

Same steps on this process like earlier. This is the second time so the split is a little bit cleaner compared to the previous one.

Since I rarely use the handsaw, I'm still using the first saw blade I bought (I haven't changed it yet). That's why there is quite a bit of a rusty marks on the surface.

Since I am going to paint this kit. That is not going to be a problem for me.

But if you aren't planning on painting your kit, you should consider checking the tools you're using. Because rust will easily transfer from tools to plastic surface.

In this step I managed to keep the horizontal plastic that run from the front to the back of the leg.

I'm still not sure how I will detail the legs later so I will keep this part as is for now.

I will clean up the surface a little bit later on since I'm still not sure which part I will keep for this leg and which one I will modify.

I always like minimum work so I won't waste time and resource on something that is not useful.

So these are the pieces for this left leg split into pieces. I will definitely keep the bottom part of the leg and use it for the actual leg.

Then the upper part of the leg will be repurpose into a thigh connector. The thigh will be scratch build using pla plates.

I will keep the knee for scraps/find a use for it later into the modification.

Then foot will be remodel later with new articulation from pla plates (similar concept with the hand scratch build).

So this is my updates and ideas for today on this Devil Gundam x Neue Ziel Project.
