Upper part of the leg
I did clean up the surface a little bit since I just can't help this habit. I just can't look at a rough surface and let it be.
As you should probably know since the original plastic is different than pla plates. The part I'm using for making the thigh later will be much stronger than regular pla plates.
However, quite a bit of modification is going to be necessary later.

Checking my work so far
I've cleaned up the surface a little bit there as you can see. Every time I see that small triangle detail I can't help but think of how I am going to change this detail later.
The right side of the leg (in this particular angle) is quite alright. However, the left side is sort of pressed by the looks of it.
I mean the triangle details just doesn't match. You'll see when I start detailing this part later on. So far the steps I took on splitting this piece has been okay.
Since the other side of the leg is quite different, the steps to split it will be slightly different.

Front view
As with the back side, I've cleaned up the surface a little bit using file mainly. Because if I use sanding stick instead, I will probably use quite a lot just to polish the surface.
Besides I know I will detail this part later so this part doesn't have to be super clean.
I think since I will have to make a new articulation with the thigh and knee. There will be a few parts that I will cement to the leg so on that step I will definitely detail while I'm making modifications.

Splitting the other side of the leg
I've split the other side into several pieces too. I kind of skip this process since you'll probably get the idea already
The same routine here. First scribing pen to give handsaw more grip later then start sawing into the edges like I showed you yesterday.
From there carefully think which part is more importance. Since the piece has quite a bit of corners and I can't think of how to hold the piece in place at an angle. So I had to prioritized which piece I want to be more intact in terms of original shape.

Knee piece
Actually since I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this knee piece. I decided to have a little filing practice on it while cleaning the surface at the same time.
What I going to do is practice making a chamfer edge on this little piece.

Since the surface was very rough from the handsaw cutting the chamfer on the bottom there is not very clear.
However I've got the idea of this chamfer edge. I think with more practice I can use this method later to detail this kit. So this is my update for today on this Devil Gundam x Neue Ziel Project.
