Devil Gundam: Scratch Building Piston [Leg Modification - Part 31]

Hi guys!

Today I will show you how the actual process of making the rings from a pla plate. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!

I've trimmed pla plate into a strip that is big enough for the rings I want to make. Then I mark center of the circle to drill a hole which should match the rod size.

Drill manually using the mark as a guide and a grip. The mark should be deep enough so the drill bit doesn't slip.

Then using a circle template mark how big the piston will be. Do it several times so it's visible. This will act as a guide later when trimming the edges.

I used a lead pencil to make the guide more clear.

Trim it off the pla strip.

Trim off the edges as close as you can get to the mark made earlier.

Test fit using the rod/gunpla runer and use it to hold the ring in place while cleaning the edges using file and sanding sponge.

Final check with the circular template. The ring should fit nicely into the template.
