Today I will working another batch of rings then cement them together into a piston. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!
New batch of rings
First start with rings of pla plates!
Straight forward steps here: markings, drill a hole, trim then clean up the edge.
I am going to need 7 rings to make a piston.
The idea is let this part of the piston slide up and down as to adjust the height of the foot.
As you can see the pictures above and bellow some of the rings aren't perfect circle.
I'm not worried at this point. I can adjust that later while sanding the surface of the piston.
Cementing time!
If you are new to this daily update. I am using combination of tamiya cement and tamiya thin cement.
Tamiya cement will provide strength for the bond and thin cement will set quickly enough to hold the pla plates in place.
Because in my experience when using just tamiya cement it is a bit hard not to nudge the pla plates and get them misaligned.
Always happens to me but if you're good with regular tamiya cement by all means go with it.
Now as the cement is curing, as quickly as I can get I align those rings in place using the rod/gunpla runer that later will become the actual rod.
Be sure to take it off slowly as the pla plates are still in the process of curing.
I will align them again later when the cement has cured completely overnight using hand drill with the same drill bit size as the rods.
