Devil Gundam: New Piston [Leg Modification - Part 27]

Hi guys!

Today I will try another method on making this piston since the previous one didn't go so well. After the cement has cured I tried filing down the piston into shape.

But since the marking are all gone due to the cement. I had no idea where to stop and so I thought of another method. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!

I think with this method I can finally create the piston structure that I want!

The idea is to make these rings fit into the number 5 circle template. That's more like 5 mm diameter I'm guessing but anyways.

A quick test fit with the rods I will be using. This is going to take quite some time since I will need a lot of copies of this ring.

And since the size is quite small. Even with my quite medium to small hand I am having quite a bit of trouble holding the ring when doing prep work.

For this one all I did was imagine I've finished 15 rings then slide them all together into the rod.

Then I can cement them all in one go into a piston. After the cement has cured I can do a quick prep work on the surface.

Removing excess plastic and cement and preparing the piece before priming it later for painting purpose.

Now another grinding begins! I'm going to need at least 24 - 30 of this ring to make a set of piston.

And since the size is quite small, I will do what I can until I think I should take a break. Because rushing things when you are not in a fit condition is a waste of time. Trust me, I've been there.

For this grind I'm going to need all of my concentration because the rings has to has a spot on hole on its center.

Any slight misalignment will show later when I cement them all into one piece. Tomorrow I will continue making this rings, test fitting and do a quick prep work for each one.
