Devil Gundam: Modifying Bottom Leg [Leg Modification - Part 71]

Hi guys!

Today I will copy a pla plate with a c-joint on it and do test fit on the knee articulation. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!

I have prepared this pla plate strip just for making copies of this small design. First, I will trim as much as I need then drill a hole through the pla plate and use a runer to guide me trimming off the excess.

Using hobby knife I trim off the excess and file the edges to adjust any bumps. After there is no more bumps left, I trim at an angle making a c-joint.

Now that the pla plates are ready I will file the surface and the edges a little bit to remove any bumps from the trimmings.

This is done on both sides since the pla plates with a c-joint will be cemented on the other side of the big pla plates.

Any bumps will surely affect the cementing process later. Also, it might affect the articulation of the runer on the bottom side of the knee.

Before making another copy for the other knee I will test fit this batch first to see if I need to make more adjustments.

Here is a test fit on this articulation mechanism. I think this looks good so far and all I need to cover some of the sides before cementing it down to the bottom leg.

Note that at this point I haven't trim off that excess gunpla runer so you can still see it close to the surface of the big piece of pla plates.
