Devil Gundam: Making Piston [Leg Modification - Part 21]

Hi guys!

Today I will continue on making a piston for the back articulation of the leg. So here are updates on Project Devil Gundam!

Since I want the piston to be at least 15 mm, I would need at least 30 copies of this design.

So now the grinding begins. The steps are similar and simply straight forward.

Using the same design yesterday I started making copies of the piston.

However, as I'm making these copies I notice its really hard to make an exact copy of the piston.

Since there are 3 holes there. And most of the times they came out misaligned.

But I kept going with making these copies.

Since the yellow gunpla runer will the piston going in and out of these holes, I need to make sure they work perfectly.

By perfectly I mean enough friction for the piston to move about and maintain a pose later.

Copies, copies and more copies. For this prototype I will just start with 1 piston for 1 leg.

Then if things are going great I can start the next piston.

Same process, 2 circles, 3 holes, trim, clean and test fit. For the next few days this will be my routine.

But I have a feeling that I might change the design a little bit if this modification turns out to be too much for me right now.
