Hello, friends especially needleworkers!

Activating my lost hobby again, crafting then last weekend i got an idea of making a bag charm.. but in what shape? instead of making animals which became my trademark and my hobby, i made something different this time, i made a cute avocado with its' green authentic color. Well in this article you would find how i made it with the easiest steps and do hope you will enjoy it!

Project Time: around 4 hours

Difficulty: Medium

Skills needed:

  • whipped stitch
  • smiling stitch (well i don't know the name, so i named it myself)
  • french knot
  • back stitch
  • blanket stitch

Materials and Things needed:

  • paper
  • pencil
  • scissors (i used both my paper scissors and craft scissors)
  • pins
  • felt fabrics in green, light green, light pink, brown and light brown
  • sewing needle
  • embroidery thread in light brown, brown, light green, green, black, red and soft pink
  • green ribbon
  • any color of sewing thread
  • filling fiber (i used dacron)
  • chains to hang or you could use keyring or anything to hang it

How to make it:

For the preparation, i drew the avocado on a piece of paper. Then to make it symettric i folded it in the enter then cut it. After that, i drew the parts of it like below.

1ST

I pinned the avocado paper pattern on the green felt then cut it. To make the exact part of it, i pinned the result of my first cutting avocado pattern to the felt then cut it. After that, i cut the pattern to get the inner part of the avocado, i folded it in the center of it again. Then i pinned it on the light green felt then cut it.

Next, i cut the brown felt in circle shape then cut also the light brown color, two circle petit light pink for the cheeks then all of the cut parts were finished.

3RD

What i sew first was the light brown to brown with the whipped stitch. To make it was quite easy you only needed to sew from the outside to inside. I also sew the whipped stitch to join the brown circle to the light green avocado. Before i closed it, i put the dacron in it then closed it.
