I recently setup the managed database instance with the vultr. It's one of those services which are good to have when you are dealing with the database that you would want to access outside your app. And having it dedicated as well as separate from existing app hosting is a good choice.
So my app is on the free side of the Azure which hosts the free app. And the database is being hosted on the managed hosting of the database on azure. So here I wish to share some of my finding about this instance as well.
So here is the current instance that I have got. I managed to host the instance on the Singapore location. And it is going to cost me around 15 USD per month.It can be more depending on how high configuration there.
In short once setup my job is to make use of the other tools to connect it with the importing and other database management options. Like say you have the mySQL workbench. It can allow you to import and export the data from the database. Some of the really good option in this case would be to use the existing data to be imported into the database.
I made the database at the time of setting up the deployment. You can also use the additional username than the one that is given to you. So basically you would be making use of the first database and also the thing is that it would be reasonable to set these things up.
After that you can get the connection info from the dashboard. And then it would be easier to connect to the database manager.I have managed to do that and also it would be easier from this point onwards. Like making use of the signed certificate to import into the system as well. It sounds good in that case.
Vultr has a good services and they seem to be allowing the managed database as a good service. And they also have lot cheaper rates than the azure as well. In that case it's a good option to make use of the vultr and similar other services for database hosting.
