I guess sometimes it feels to live good life like some spiritualist. But in that case we have to assume that the neighborhood , country and people around are supporting that ecosystem. Nobody can become the spiritual in taliban infested land or some middle east. That's just survival over there. I think it's more or less calculation comes down to choices of survival. More choices means safer place you are in. Less choices means your survival is kind of under stress.
