I usually don't go for the Netflix for the anime recommendation. But there seems to be pretty much good anime landing these days. And a lot of them are more or less western plot inspired and they have less to do with the Japanese or the Asian plots. One such anime which has more or less Hollywoodish touch is the - Hero Mask.
So here's the review for the Hero Mask - Anime.

It starts with some rogue person causing the trouble wearing a mask which makes him immune to the physical attacks. And the search for origin of such masks and people wearing them begins. Then connects the conspiracy inside the police department and then series of deaths and the connected chains unfold.

The series slowly moves ahead building one character at a time. And that sort of improvement over the existing plot. So if you are into this type of the story you would surely love the hero mask anime story.
I loved the animation. I think there is a lot of western touch to it. Especially the half British influenced as far as the detective part is concerned. And a lot of American influenced as far as the story and the plot is concerned.

You would also love how each character is painted the right way. It gives you more or European culture like feel wherre they are placed and kept. And also the art is kind of pretty smooth for the series. So something like that would give you real life TV detective series like feel there.
I would say animation, character development was the key of this anime. Especially the character development. You would love the good cop and bad cop part in the story.
There was a lot to like in this type of the anime. Like the story is also good though slow burn and often a lot of unnecessary parts for it's genre. But overall everything works out.
A lot of of the story is slow burn. There is not much into the story that you would enjoy unless you are into the detective and the drama type of the content. So often you would get into the place where you will think of skipping. I do too. And I have done it while watching the anime.
I would say yes. However don't expect much of fantasy or Scifi in it. There is more detective element than the scifi. I thought hero mask would be of some sinister purpose and something good to look upto. But it does not seem like that and the story is more of detective series that you often look at from some hollywood movies and the TV Show.
If you like watching something like that then go ahead and watch it. I'd definitely recommend this anime if you like detective and drama stuff.
