Netflix has been airing some of the good anime for last few months. And DOTA is one of them. Though I never expected the lore becoming more of western written one. As it shows up pretty easily based on some of the westernize influence in the writing.
You may feel like anime art with western influence in story pretty clearly. Though I wont say the elves were properly drwan. That is somethign I have noticed in many animes and not just this one.
So how is DOTA dragons blood anime?

A lot of video game stories are being turned into Universe of it's own. I have seen some of the video games also turning out their own comics and games around it. Mobile legends which is known for ripping off both DOTA and League of Legends has been at it for some time too. They have been churning out their own character comics lately.
DOTA being the original MMO in the universe of the MMO games, they have these stories for years. But they never took a chance to make animated series and a strong comics. I think now they have started to see the power of work from home people who pay for such stufff. And so the new TV series is pandering to the fans.
I never thought the story behind the DOTA would be this much deep and how the characters have their own direction. I always played the game ignoring the characters around them as well. I had pretty much same experience while watching the TV series. It has pretty good start with one tank character being shown his journey while he meets the marksman princess.

And then comes all other small elements in the story and other character slowly get added along the way. If you are long term DOTA fan you would pay more attention and try to connect the dots. I didn't do that much and watched it in generic way as any anime fan would do these days.
I honestly didn't like the mixture of the western lores meeting the Japanese anime style. I do noticed that they tried to do in a manner they are not much driving away from the game and DOTAs universe of it's own.

For that I am going to ignore their western influence in the game and art. I'd love it as an anime but it's more of cartoonish than Japanese anime.
I definitely feel like this is more of one time watch type of the anime. And I wont be going back over it unless it makes like 5 seasons or so with in depth story that in some way connects game or so. And in that context I'd say watch it in one sitting and finish.
If you like the DOTA franchise then this series may be a good fun for you to kill the time. And also the overall the way it was done I am kind of not that disappointed. It's a good run and for new gamers this may even make them attract to DOTA verse.
I'd definitely recommend to those who like game to TV show type of transition.
