I remember the first time I got into the article writing. It was in 2006 and there was this adsense site that allowed people to write for some views. And more views you get the more you get paid. And slowly that became the pattern.
So my writing journey begins. I chased views and earned few cents here and there. I could have done the job outside but Instead I wasted years on the adsense based site. And that was one of my issues with the income.
Roll back the time, in 2012, the Adsense based revenue models started dying and now they are not longer the income source for anyone. In fact going for such income options is a bad move for the career and also for the savings and the income.
I know world works on mothly salary and we technically do some of the jobs on cents. But in real life working as a writer and waiting for cents to accumulate is a bad strategy. i know on hive I do the same. But I don't rely on the hive as an income forever. So that is where line is drawn.
Another thing is that entire day we have multiple cents to think of and that would take us nowhere. You have to make the savings and also make sure to address variety of issues that you do with writing and earning you make with it.
Switch to pay per article option. Save that money. And build up the investment. That is one of the ways things can be changed. And if you go through that route it may be one of the ways things can be done properly and we can see some output out of.
Unless you have patent that earns you income every-time your product i being used. You should make sure to not rely on it as an income. So we have to think of the income that is decent and not something cent per day. I now especially those who want to go long length needs to think.
My approach even on hive is changed. I use it as a platform to promote my writing and work. And that has helped me earn some income in cents. Though I am growing slowly but I hope that some day that pattern would also change and I would have something worth spending on as well.
Lot of lessons learned as a broken writer. And things have changed. I am not rich yet. Nor I am broke. I am just better than broke. I am finding ways to get my developer job pay some bills and that is about that. Nothing more can be said now. Hopefully the life changes in near future.
