iOS eSteem App | No Done Button Available To Select User or Tag Option

As I use the eSteem app more and more, I am lucky to find and report issues which could help it get more robust. I know @good-karma is already putting a lot of effort to make it more stable it and come up with some updates including UI updates. I hope these reported issues will help him and all of us to use a more robust, user-friendly and reliable version of this amazing mobile app. With one of the topmost platform over Steemit which users are using to post and communicate with each other, I love using this app on the go now. Anyways back to topic.

Problem Statement

1. When I try to search on eSteem app, it provides me a list of tags/topics to start with.
2. Now, there is a dropdown list that allows me to select if I want to search the topics or users.
   
3. However, when you click on that drop down you do get the list of two options to choose from but then there is no way to say “Done” or I have selected my value, now proceed with the selection.
4. If I clicked outside it selected the already shown topics, screwing what I wanted to search. Kind of very confusing and troublesome experience for a user.
5. Problem: As a user I do not have an option or a button to select that my operation is done, clearly.e as m This is creating confusion and makes this feature kind of unsablockup.

Steps To Reproduce The Scenario Suggested

1. Open eSteem app v1.4.7 on iPhone 6 with iOS 11.2.1.
2. Click on the three dots "..." to open the context menu and select Search
3. Click on the dropdown where it says Tag and below you will get two options to choose from, Tag or User.
4. Issue: No done button available to select the option between two, Tag or User. Confusing for the user on how to select the right value and search on it.

Suggestion Proposed

As a user I should always have an option or a button to select that my operation is done, clearly when selecting from dropdown lists in mobile phone as shown in below picture.

As shown in this mockup page, if you look at the form, as a user I have selected the Gender. Now, I am provided with three options viz. Male, Femal, Other. I can choose any of these options and click on the highlighted "Done" but to select and choose my option clearly.

The mockup even shows that user is being told what needs to be done like "I am..." This will help user experience and guide him automatically of what needs to be done for the selected option.

Benefits of Proposed Suggestion

1. Clarity in User Experience of what needs to be done or which action need to be performed
2. Enables user to perform the action, which currently user cannot perform
3. Enables the user to be self trained or self served
4. Follows the industry standards of User Experience when implementing dropdown lists in mobile apps or mobile enabled web pages

Conclusion

In the end, the eSteem app is a great promising app for users who are especially on the move. I would love to have its more robust and stable version in time to come. The above suggestion should help the user with better user experience of the app and enables him to self serve themseleves without confusion. It will help in the overall user experience of searching text with either User or Tag options clearly.
