New years? Wasn't that like... Three months ago already?! Well yes, it was. I'm a bit late on this post, but I wanted to make it all the same.
Nearly every big city in the world has some kind of fireworks display for the new year, and Seoul is no exception. What does make Seoul such a great place to spectate the new years displays is the fact that it also houses Lotte World Tower, the tallest Tower in the OECD standing at 555m (it's actually 554m, or 556m to the tip, but 555 is just cooler right?). Fireworks and towers? That's a recipe for a good time if I've ever seen one.
It took us an hour to get there, and 4 hours to get home. It was insane. I've never sen traffic so bad or as crazy in my life. It was not something I ever want to experience again. No taxi would respond within 3 hours because of queues. No bus had a line shorter than 100 people, and the subways stopped at about 12:30 to where we needed to go.
The fireworks started at 12:00, they ended at about 12:10. We got home at about 4:30. But you know what? It was worth it in the end, and I'm happy I went.
Some of these pictures were posted a few months ago, but the videos weren't (how do you post more than one video at once?!). I didn't want to re-sort through what I had already posted and hadn't though, so please understand :)
Something appears to have happened in the compression of these images to make them look slightly blurry. I will re-upload them if I can find the problem!
