Bashar W. Badran, Ph.D. and E. Baron Short, M.D. are researching on this tool called e-meditation as an aid to mindful meditation in the hope that one day it will become a household practice to accelerate people's practice of mindful meditation.

Personally I think if their technique is proven successful it could also be extended to other areas of psychology to help in the treatment of many psychological disorders. One disorder that comes to my mind instantly is Attention Deficit Syndrome (ADD). If the e-meditation tool could make meditation practitioners accelerate their practice and achieve calmness with significant increase in "acting with awareness" I am inclined to think that the e-meditation tool should also be of help to ADD sufferers.
