Just like steemit, Sola is some sort of paid kind of social media. Users get paid due to people's actions on their posts or comments.
Posts on Sola are usually referred to as cards and way we call upvotes here are called endorsements. So basically the aim is to post a picture (card) so appealing that people endorse (upvote it). Users require a token called Action Point (AP) to post cards or to endorse.
Just like voting in percentage on the steemit platform, users choose the amount of Action Point to use when endorsing a card. The difference now is you don't have to get a certain number of Action Points to do that, unlike steemit where you need to get a certain amount of Steem Power.
The currency used on the Sola platform is called Sol. It can be exchanged in certain exchanges for BTC, ETH or even USD.
