Are we animals? Yes.
There has been many arguments, certainly not scientific about whether humans should be referred to as animals or not. Truth is, nobody wants to be called an animal.
It is believed that animals are by instinct brute, crude and unintelligent. For these reasons, nobody wants to be referred to as an animal because that would simply infer that the person is brute, crude and unintelligent. Some people even believe that animals cannot think for themselves.
I do not agree with this view. For one, there are other animals who are as intelligent as humans, some, in certain instances even have more intelligence in certain fields. There are animals that go through lots of planning when executing tasks, something some humans don't even do.

I'll use the lion, a very popular animal as an example. Lions put in a lot of time in planning while hunting. They take their time to select the weakest prey, they try to identify the prey's weak spot, they stalk the prey, they isolate the prey from others, then they strike. Sometimes this planning is done in groups which of course makes us understand that there's communication between the lions. Lions live as families and they even have territories. While female lions are out hunting, the male lion would wait with the cubs. They are so brave that the size of their enemies don't scare them.

Another animal worthy of mention would be the ant. Ants are so hardworking, they can lift as much as 50 times their own weights. Yet, this amazing animals work as a group. They work towards a common goal. They have their own security team, they have the food experts, they have a head for each colony, there's division of labor and everyone knows where they belong.

Humans on the other hand have trouble working together. We are constantly arguing over unnecessary things. Family means nothing to some of us. Everyday, we wake up and try to outdo each other, even in an unfair manner. We belief only in fending for ourselves and forget that two good heads will always be better than one.
In the real sense, we are exactly what we describe as animals. Humans are heartless, lazy, untrustworthy, self-centered, insecure and you name it.
WE ARE ANIMALS
In flesh and in blood, we are animals. We have all the instincts that we see in other animals. This realization should make us look inwards. We should not bother to try denying this fact. Our aim now should be to become better animals.
HOW TO BECOME A BETTER ANIMAL
WE ARE ANIMALS, BUT WE ARE HIGHER ANIMALS 👌
