It seems I was a nice dad and husband this year as there appeared a nice xmas calendar at the 1.st of December at our house. This one is filled with 24 bottles of the best Belgian beer and was delivered for me from my lovely family.

Yeah it is again a huge box filled with food for the rabbits of our friends.
From Luxenbourg there is the Diekirch Grand Cru beer. I love that style of bottle with that "Plopp" sound whenever you open the bottle.
Clear, amber color and a nice white head. Sweet nose, fruity, malty. Taste is malty, nutty with some sweet fruits.
From Melle in East Flanders in Belgium there is the Delirium Nocturnum made by the Brouwerij Huyghe
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head.
Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present.
Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

What a number for a beer. The Duvel 666 blond from Breendonk-Puurs, Antwerp, Belgium is a Belgian Ale style beer with 6.66% and 20 IBU
After a quick search with my hand inside the box, the Duvel was the pick of today
