Today, if you search the web, interior designers have many choices for designing and modelling spaces. There are many professional programs but also programs that use drag-and-drop features, many of them are web-based and free and almost everyone can use them.
Most of my colleagues and friends use Sketchup. I use it sometimes, but most often I use Autocad. Primarily because of accuracy.
Here I will show you how to design and furnish a room in the online program HomeByMe. This program has a good library and the renders are photorealistic. You can test out ideas before starting the project. It is easy to use and anyone can draw a design for a room or house.

  • The program gives you instructions on how to get started.

  • -Select the basic features.

  • You can use the existing floor plan and draw over it. We will start from scratch

  • -Select the thickness of the walls. You automatically see the length when you draw a line.

  • -If you make a mistake, it doesn't matter, you can always edit later. When you close the surface, the floor automatically appears, which you can edit in the same way, the same as the walls.

  • -On the build, add windows, doors and whatever else you imagine.

  • -You can also edit, move, duplicate or replace them.

  • -You can change the door or window side and opening, height, width, and height from the floor.
Also, colour, type, glass and even the handle.

  • In the beginning, add the ceiling height, but if you forget, you can always change it. Here, the normal ceiling height in apartments is 265-275cm.

  • -When you finish with drawing the plan, you can immediately see how the room looks by clicking on 3D.

  • Now you can use the furnish and decorate command to start decorating the room. The commands are at the top left. The first icon is for drawing the room, the second for decorating and furnishing.
You can see how the furniture is classified by room. There is a very large selection for each type of room, but I suggest you use "GENERIQUE" because those pieces can be edited. The others are perhaps more interesting, but they are in fact advertisements of various manufacturers and cannot be edited.

  • When you're done editing, click on the camera and you can render. The figure that moves around the drawing and most often bothers you is actually you :) and its position determines the views in the renders.

  • On your profile, you can see what you used for your project.

  • And these are realistic photos. Not bad at all.
