I continue with the series of illustrations that I did for a Sir Pieper beer label project. The idea was to design characters based on the ingredients of each type of beer and what they wanted to represent; for example, for this beer I had to be inspired by a city in Egypt.
I chose to use Cleopatra as a reference since she is an iconic character from the Egyptian lands and known in the rest of the world, besides that in my opinion it would look very good visually. Then come the part where I had to think about how I would design this character; Most of the time, before being able to make an initial sketch, I think a lot and check references, so practically at the first attempt with the sketch I decided that this would be the one that would work.
I recharge it with accessories because that would give more personality to the illustration as well as the character. I did this by researching Egyptian accessories and ornaments and Cleopatra sculptures from her time.
For the color palette I relied on jewelry as turquoise green, blue and red are quite common and yellow for gold.
