A comment I wrote;
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, that is mined; as is Litecoin, Dash, Zcash and Doge. Many more are, but too many "Cryptos" are ERC20 specifications on ETH; Ethereum is a smart contract platform that lets you sell BTC to burn USD. Waves is a decentralized exchange that can hold, trade and includes native assets. Not all cryptocurrencies are currencies and not all tokens are assets. Blockchain is an incredible way to raise money in a decentralized way, but too many are wandering into trouble with the ill defined and much misunderstood ICOs that are taking place. Buy BTC if you want BTC. If you want altcoins, give freely to the projects you like and forget about profit motive. That's my opinion.
