Unlike most people, I can't say I didn't like it. I think it's better that they started under the title "The Amazing Spiderman" rather than "Spiderman". And when the title is different, some of the characters can change. I didn't find that so strange.
The duration is again long, but it is a fluid movie that manages to keep you watching until the end without making you feel it. This time Lizard was the enemy against Spider-Man.
The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. The film is a reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise, portraying the character's origin story and his development into a superhero. It was directed by Marc Webb and starred Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard.
The film begins with the death of Peter Parker's parents and his subsequent upbringing by his aunt and uncle, May and Ben Parker. As a teenager, Peter discovers that his father, Richard Parker, was a scientist who had been working on a serum to regenerate damaged tissue. Peter becomes obsessed with finding out more about his father's work and eventually uncovers a briefcase containing his father's notes.
At school, Peter is bullied by Flash Thompson and has a crush on his classmate, Gwen Stacy. One day, while attending a science exhibition, Peter is bitten by a genetically altered spider. Shortly after, he begins to develop spider-like abilities, including heightened strength and the ability to cling to walls and ceilings.
Meanwhile, Dr. Curt Connors, a former colleague of Richard Parker, is working on a serum to regenerate lost limbs. However, when an experiment goes awry, Connors injects himself with the serum and transforms into a giant, humanoid lizard. As the Lizard, Connors goes on a rampage, destroying parts of the city and threatening the lives of its citizens.
As Spider-Man, Peter fights the Lizard and ultimately succeeds in defeating him. In the aftermath, Peter decides to use his powers to protect the city and begins a career as a superhero. He also reconciles with Gwen, whom he had pushed away out of fear for her safety, and the two begin a relationship.
The Amazing Spider-Man is an exciting and well-made superhero film that stays true to the character's origins while adding some fresh elements to the story. Andrew Garfield's portrayal of Peter Parker/Spider-Man is likable and sympathetic, and his chemistry with Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy is charming and authentic. The action scenes, particularly the climactic battle between Spider-Man and the Lizard, are well-choreographed and thrilling.
The dynamic between Peter and his aunt and uncle is sweet and poignant, and the film does a good job of exploring the complicated feelings Peter has towards his absent parents. The relationship between Peter and Gwen is also well-developed and believable, with their love for each other serving as a key driving force for both characters.
The Amazing Spider-Man is a satisfying and entertaining addition to the Spider-Man film franchise. It boasts strong performances, impressive special effects, and a well-written script that stays true to the spirit of the original comics while adding some fresh twists to the story. It's definitely worth a watch for fans of the character and for anyone looking for a thrilling superhero movie.
