Thanks for this, what a cool idea! My mind started immediately running as soon as I started reading your loves and shoves.
My Heart is taken by my loves.
Number 1. God. He has taken my life in a direction that only he can do. I hear so many attribute their good fortune to God and others blame him for misfortune. I hear people stand steadfast against the belief because children are starving. I hear preachers boast of your reward for giving him money. I hear people when in trouble, or disappointed call out his name as if were to blame.
God does not play chess. He does not order us around like some kind of video game. He created us to be able thrive on what he has made for us. I love Jesus. My belief, though, is not one of hate of another. If you believe in the snake god, then I am sorry that I do not support that belief, but that is your choice. God does not want us to fight, though he understands that there are times when we have no choice. Tolerance, I believe, is what Jesus preached. Love your neighbor, not covet. Things are things, and this is where we are lost, in a sea of things.
I am not the societal roll model. I have screwed up A LOT in my life. I am also hyper creative and enjoy doing all kids of things, because I understand that all of these things, are gifts. My first love, is my Jesus. He allows me to make mistakes and still loves me, he wants me to do better. He rewards me for following his footsteps. He covers me with his wings. I do at times ask him for financial protection, and I probably should not, since, really these are not his cares. He cares for ALL of us, not just my selfish foresight. He allows me to be successful, if I work at it, he allows wealth to be generated, whether it is monetary, spiritual, physical or emotional. He also allows us to fail if we do not meet the requirements, so that we seek another path.
He does not allow babies to die, we do. He allows us to make mistakes, in order that we learn. The suffering here can be blamed on no one other than ourselves. Through our own self centered viewpoint, we have twisted the ideas of God into our own, for our own personal relief of guilt. Through all of our prideful, selfish and uncaring actions, he still loves us. His thoughts are incomprehensible, yet we attempt to justify our actions through a few chosen words. His intentions are not that hard to understand, Love each other, be kind to each other, treat his house with respect (we all live in his house), and try to make life better for someone else.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
Number 2. My family. As much as we may fight at times, we are a pack of wolves for those who wish to harm us. As dysfunctional as we are at times, we are all stuck in Man's world trying to believe we can do better. We fight, sometimes not talk for years. We are creative by nature, art, craft, music, thinkers and tinkers. We all have some love of human expression. Some of us hold on to the material in order to escape the pain of admitting our faults. Some of us open our mouths when we should learn to shut them. Some of us flow, while others ebb. In the end, though, we all have a pit-bull in us waiting for the predator to get a little closer.
Without my family, I have no one worth dying for, no one worth fighting for, and no one worth loving.
Number 3. My friends. Much like my family, and a few I consider my family, we are a motley crew of dysfunctional, hell raising (at times), gun toting, hard working, hard caring, hard loving, somewhat irrational, opinionated, thinkers, tinkers, researchers, gardeners, homesteaders, seekers, x-outlaws, educated, x-military (in some way shape or form), headstrong bunch of 80's kids. At this point in life, most of my close friends, and I, have seen our share of death, drug addiction, violence and hate. We have witnessed the horrible side of humanity, and experienced the awesome. My friends, would fight for me, and I for my friends. Though at times, we might pound the crap out of each other either verbally or physically, we are connected through a bond that can only be broken by God.
Number 4. The animals on my farm. They unwittingly sacrifice their lives for my benefit, whether through death or servitude. They feed me and those around me with little to no complaints. I also, in turn serve them through care and stewardship. The role they allow me to manifest is humbling. The balance that I receive through the ability to protect and care for the animals that, care, protect and feed me is not able to be put into words.
Number 5. Gardening/Farming. I love getting my hands dirty. Working earth so that it can give birth to a variety of edible bounty. Gardening and farming are my ways of creating a balance, though somewhat small, to this chaotic world we live in. Growing food, that has been grown sometimes for thousands of years, to maintain a sustainable diet and help, in a small way, feed those that cannot afford to feed themselves. I get a lot of flack from girlfriends and acquaintances, for giving food away. They say:
"... why give away what has cost you so much, you need to value your effort and sweat..."
I believe that I will never go hungry as long as I put my will in alignment with his. WWJD (I konw its corny, but it's a question I ask often).
Well 5 things I dislike.
Number 1. War. War is a mechanism created to allow the very rich to use the very poor to fight for their causes. Though, I do believe that some wars are necessary, they are fought for freedom. NOT in the name of freedom, but rather for freedom. I think we have lost track of what is important. Our freedom is key to our societal emancipation. War for profit is only materialistic hegemony.
Number 2. Statutes. The implementation of statutes over common law is an illusion of safety. This illusion gives people a sense of security while they are only implemented as a hidden tax to generate funding through our biggest asset, our ability to make mistakes. Now as a disclaimer, I truly believe that criminals, like those who steal books for months, from the local library (@powellx5; just kidding!), murder, rape, pedophilia, and the such, as we see necessary for the stability of society, should be dealt with quickly and severely. Other than that, live, love laugh. We should not fear a policeman driving behind us.
Number 3. Television. The idiot tube. Programming. The most powerful way to project a specific way of thinking. ILLUSION.
Number 4, GMO. The onset of factory farming has created its own version of Frankenstein! The modification of those things that God has given us so perfect, in order to make more money. Destroying animals, insects, humans and entire non-GMO crops, all in the name of profit. Now don't get me wrong, I believe in profit, but never at the expense of lives, ecosystems or balance.
Number 5. Politicians. Dirty liars. Untrustworthy manipulators. Power addicts. Political machinations . Bankers puppets. Dishonorable traitors.
