Innocence of Children

When I was shooting family portraits, taking pictures of children for them was my favorite part of the shoot. I always liked to capture the innocence and the wonder in their eyes.

I really like the monochrome edit of this image. When I originally took this photo and edited it for the family, I had done it in color because the mother had gone through the trouble of having a tent in the background color coordinated with the bow for her hair. Seeing it in black and white really brings all of the attention to her eyes and it has a nice soft glow from the sun behind her and it isn't overpowering like it was in color.

Here is the color version. I re-edited it and cropped it from how I had originally edited it. I toned the colors down a bit and lowered the contrast.

This is one of the first of my #re-edit series, where I will be taking photos from when I was newer in photography and re-editing them to my style now. As I progress with this series and figure out how I am going to do it, I am going to be sharing tips in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop as well and possibly even sharing some Lightroom presets that I have made for my post processing.
