Today was a pretty nice day and I had to get out and enjoy the nice weather. Last week it was snowing, cold and all around crappy weather. I haven't been sleeping so great since I started coming off of my medication, so I got up pretty early today and got bored enough to go outside.
I grabbed my camera and headed out the door. I had my 100mm macro lens on my camera and wanted to challenge myself to take some pictures in a different way than I normally would.
One thing I love about the Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens is how awesome it makes the bokeh look in the background. There aren't many lenses that can do such a good job at making your main subject stand out so much from the background like this lens can.
Sometimes I like to get up close to random things and take pictures just to see how it turns out. Photography is all about making ordinary things look interesting and showing them in different ways than people normally look at them.
It was nice to get outside and just wander around snapping pictures of stuff. I can't wait for it to warm up a bit more and then I can set up my hummingbird feeder and hopefully get some shots of some hummingbirds in flight.
Have you been taking pictures lately? I hope so because tomorrow is going to be a big day for Hive because the Deranged Photography Contest is going to be returning and making its debut here on the Hive Blockchain.
Thank you for taking the time to check out this post and my pictures. I am looking forward to starting up my photo contest again and hoping that there will be a lot of participation here on Hive.
