Introducing this week's guest judge
@alevaskye
Every week I am going to have a guest judge to help choose the winning images. Not only will this keep it fair, but it will also help me choose because it is very hard to narrow down all of the entries when they are all so awesome.
This week's guest is @alevaskye, or simply Maya. I met her a month or two ago while we were both taking part in the
@photogames as Photo Stars creating games for people to play. If you are interested in some fun photography themed contests, you should check out
@photogames.
Maya in her own words
My name is Maya. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska until the age of 15 when my parents moved us to Eastern Washington where I finished out high school.

I've always been interested in filmmaking from an early age. Jurassic Park was probably my first inspiration. I wanted to be a computer animator. After taking a class in high school I realized that wasn't for me, and neither was editing. Instead I wanted to work on set with the camera.
At 15, I decided my career and never strayed from the plan. I worked on two films first as an office intern, and then as a set Production Assistant in Washington at the local production company when I was 18. Tried a year of traditional college and realized how pointless it was so I shipped out to Orlando Florida for a 2 year film school and after graduation I drove straight out to Los Angeles. Been working out here for the past 9 years as a Camera Assistant, mostly on studio television shows. I love it most of the time. Haha.

Sometimes the stage shows can get pretty boring and I run out of websites to browse during the day. It's long and often demanding labor, but every now and then I get hit with the realization that I'm doing my dream and that's a cool moment to take in.
I've gotten to explore the city and go where many people will never get to explore, and every so often I get to watch shit blow up, people doing crazy stunts, examine elaborate sets, see amazing wardrobe and prosthetics....and I'm hardly in the same spot. My office can be anywhere.

I've always been into photography but never had the money for my own DSLR. I'd use my Canon Powershot A620 that I bought myself in high school or I would borrow from friends. In 2014 I finally bought my Sony A7 when they were first introduced after heavy research on various cameras. Since then I've been learning as I shoot.

Most of my knowledge about photography comes from what I know about cinematography. I'd love to learn flash photography and strobes, which is a whole different skill set. As of now I shoot everything with practical constant lighting as we do in the movies. I don't think I have a particular style yet as I'm still learning new ways to shoot. I love the use of colored studio lights for portraits, and I enjoy playing with reflections and glass in front of the lens.

You still have time to enter your images both of the contests.
