TGIF. Real cliche how I'm starting this one ey? Hehe. I want to begin by saying a big THANK YOU to @dreemsteem for coming up with such an amazing idea for a challenge. It's for 6 weeks and I feel really good to be part of it. For some reason, I feel this is going to be a pleasant six weeks.
Today, I literally forced myself to leave my house for a stroll. Trust me, I was feeling anything but social or bouncy. I just wanted to be holed up all day and do nothing (I'm glad I have the most understanding Mom) but I remembered my pledge and just had to do it. I mean, I've got to get out of my head someday right? Healthy life! Hehe.

So I started with the challenge today after thoroughly reading the post to understand how it worked. I've always prioritized my spiritual life thus the praying and meditation was the easiest part. I normally spend about an hour communicating with God before meditating on my Bible for about as long as permitted. I always leave my kneeling position with a peace that's hard to describe before plugging my ears with soul lifting songs. However, I only accomplished little on the other parts and the water drinking? Sorry...hehe! Oops! I'll work on that. Wow. I've really been jeopardizing my health without knowing it.

My walk started from our really congested street. I've lived here for about 5 or 6 years? And my body is itching for change.
I and my mom always moved places time to time but I think she's relaxed here which is why she doesn't bring up moving. And she's been so much of a support to me, I wouldn't take this away from her just because I can't stay put.
While walking, I come across a really familiar place. Hehe. This place...
OMG! That chicken can pose😂
Doesn't look like much but that's where I sit to reflect and stuff. It's always lonely and less noisy especially at night and I enjoy it. Time seems to slow down when I'm here and I think broadly without restraint or distractions.
Moving forward, however brings back a really stinging memory.
That house is where I had mindlessly attended a party with my ex. I'd never forget. It ended in a disaster. The mother of the host came home unexpectedly(she was a police officer) the smell of weed, drugs and alcohol was pungent. We had to fly through the back door and wrestle with a really brutal German Shepherd. WOW!. I've come a long way from the person I was.
But that memory is quickly drowned by the kids playing on bicycles.
I never learned how to ride one because "it was unladylike" according to my Aunt and when I had the chance, I was scared. Still scared.
Now this tree has been here even before we moved. It must be a gazillion years old. Lol. One time it was struck by lightning. I was one of the few to experience the beautiful scene of it burning, but look, still thriving. No ordinary tree.
Oh Look! A cloud...
The sky had been totally clear and dry till I made this turn. Forgive me but I kinda associate this with hope. Lol. I mean you never know right?
Also, today is the holy day of the Muslims...
They are still active on the street, decked in their nice dresses. I guess coming out wasn't so bad afterall...
When I got home, I felt like doing something I have never done before. Let me tell you. I am terrified of heights! They scare me. So you can imagine how my heartbeat spiked and my legs wobbled when I climbed the top of my Landlord's 6ft tall pond. It's empty and dry which led to me to thinking my death would be swift but not at all painless. Haha. No negative thoughts please🧘. Namaste🙏
I did it though and stood all of 30 seconds without puking my guts out. I decided to take a picture for keepsake.
On this note I'll leave you with something I wrote while in the confines of my bedroom. Just a little story in poetic form.
I sit back
Glaring at the clear blue sky
Cloudless, still a beauty;
a contrast to my mind –
warped with webs and chains of the past.
A little breeze blows,
my skin sings at the luxury,
there's a trembling, a longing;
I want the rain!
The scent, the nostalgia,
the deja vu of it all.
Taking me back
to my secondary school days,
back to the careless moments,
the stolen glances;
back to the priceless laughs.
My eyes fall to the ground,
the dirt beneath my feet;
the sky is the dream, the earth reality.
We can't go back, we know too much now,
We can't play stupid– dabbling in silly fancies.
We face time and hope to catch up with it.
