Just yesterday, I read @iskafan post about preparation. While reading it a lot of things went through my mind and one was very loud. I haven't fully prepared! While commenting on her post, I made the mental note to start that day.
Preparation towards a better life and investment opportunities calls for one major thing. Upgrade.
Yes. I went to upgrade my account and open one more. Here's the deal, while opening a new account, I decided to reactivate the dormant one. And as though everything was working for me– which it was– the Lady politely asked me what I want to use the account for.
My mind clicked and I said for my business. She advised me to upgrade my account to a Standard one so It'd be able to hold up to 10M and receive upto N50,000 in a day.
I thought about it and it's all in my favor. I've always wanted to have two accounts. Now I do. One for personal things, the other for business ventures.
The more I thought about it, the more I nodded my head. Yes, I'll send 10% of my income to the personal account. This would be for my basic needs and stuff. The other 80% would be in the Standard account for when I meet new opportunities I'd want to invest in.
You're wondering why 80% and not 90%. That's because the other 10% is to God. Yep. I always pay my tithe.
On my way back from the bank, it hit me that I keep setting goals and achieving some when I haven't really taken care of the important things. My mind formulated a list of undone things and I felt a headache coming on because, I'm actually far behind than I thought. But it's okay. The first step in problem solving is identifying the problem which I have done and made a list of. So little by little, I'll be ticking them off till I'm free of their shackles.
This is where you ponder on your own needs and discover what you should do that you haven't done. My Pastor said in one of his teachings, "wisdom is not just knowing how to do it. It is also doing it when you should."
Another teacher I follow said, "where there is disorderliness, you find mediocrity. Show me an excellent man and I'll show you one who's well organized."
Also...
There are certain levels you'll never reach till you have fulfilled certain requirements. Success isn't "I'll do it later". It is a state of urgency with the "Now" mindset.
Yeah, yeah, these are quotes that I work with all the time.
It takes a thick skin to get to the top and a strong mental state to believe in who you are not what you have.
