I did grow up with Christmas, but I didn't grow up with Santa Claus... to some degree there was a "Christmas Man" in Denmark, loosely based on St. Nicholas, the Saint of kindness and generosity.

I'm somewhat of a Grinch, too. Around here, we celebrate the Solstice as much as Christmas... we just enjoy the opportunity for celebration, and a good meal with friends!
