"Hive is Home."

That resonates with me, and as you stated when something is "home" (as you well know!) we start putting a different level and attention into it.

These days, when I consider all the things "happening on Hive", I can't help but think about Ethereum, and its evolution. When you keep your ear to the ground, people aren't as excited about Ethereum ($1,800 pricetag notwithstanding) as they are about what you can DO with/on Ethereum. Hell, even the Binance Smart Chain is built from Ethereum. Ethereum itself isn't that much of a thing.

Now, let's look at Hive on a similar projected course, where this is a framework, more than anything.

To that end, it becomes increasingly important to be clear about what Hive "IS" and what we're telling the world about it... especially in view of this new marketing proposal that has just been approved.

Even in my very earliest days on Steem Hive — once I had a basic understanding of the nature and potential of this "beast" — I started telling people that using the pitch "come to our community and make money creating content" is the WRONG approach to use. It bring the WRONG people, and it will cause massive stagnation. Even "come to our community and BUILD STAKE in the social media you're using!" makes more sense, from a long term sustainability perspective.

It's Marketing 101: If you tell people you have a full bucket and you're sharing, people will come to empty that bucket. I personally believe the price of Hive struggles because there has been such a heavy focus on "emptying" the bucket. Constant sales pressure. Every time the price runs up a little, half the community shows up with their liquid Hive to SELL.

Thankfully, it does seem like we're moving towards a place where Hive is an ecosystem of many flavors... and I'm hoping the content creation aspect will gradually move more and more into the hands of the individual communities with their own tokens... LeoFinance style... and Hive becomes more something you MUST hold to buy in (Stake) to various projects, play games, create communities, and whatever.... gradually removing the sales pressure while creating purchase demand.

I'm also strongly in alignment with taskmaster4450@taskmaster4450 on the notion that we also need for someone to grab the bull by the horns and create a viable commercial peer-to-peer marketplace here (eBay meets Amazon meets Craigslist) that's entirely crypto based... and thereby creates the necessity for buying and holding Hive. Like many such things, that's 3-5-10 year project.

Hard to believe, but there was a time when ETH was stuck around $10 for a very long time (in crypto terms).

Sorry about the "dissertation," but you're bringing up some important stuff here.
