Well... I've got more than 20 years on you, and there was a time in my life when I spent the gross national product of a small nation on retreats and workshops and books, all in service of finding "purpose and meaning."

I stopped... my takeaway being that "purpose" is mostly a sort of golden carrot being dangled in front of to keep us all seeking rather than finding. As one of my Teachers once quipped: "Enlightenment is recognizing that SEEKING Enlightenment is an admission that you do not HAVE Enlightenment and that Enlightenment isn't even something you can HAVE!"

These days my purpose changes daily... and sometimes minute to minute... and that's really OK.
