Wow!

Some things never change. We lived in San Pedro when I was a teenager (late 1970s) and I remember how my parents absolutely loathed going to Fuengirola whenever friends from Scandinavia or the UK were visiting and insisting that we go to them for dinner or something. My stepdad (an expat Brit who'd been living in Spain since the mid-1960s) referred to Fuengirola as "the armpit of the coast."

Makes sense that Torremolinos would be reinventing itself first since it was also the original "tourist trap," way back when...

I haven't been back since my stepdad passed away in 2009... I doubt I'd recognize anything, anymore.
