Well, I've been a dishwasher for a really long time... Oh, wait... we do wipe and rinse off pretty thoroughly before using the dishwasher, when we actually use the dishwasher. But that mostly has to do with minimizing how much grease and food scraps go into the pipes and into the septic system. And even being diligent about that, I still have to rooter the pipes to the tank every 6 months or so...
