Executive dysfunction, which is one of the things I struggle with as part of my adhd, is very hard to overcome sometimes. The mind wants to, and the mind even screams "get up and go do something," and yet you just sit there and you can't move. And sometimes you do move and it feels like you're basically trying to paddle your canoe upstream against the current that's faster than your ability to paddle.
One of the things I've learned along the way is to not beat myself up in the pretext that I'm lazy because it's not laziness, it's faulty brain chemistry.
